Dibrugarh police has summoned 25 officers including the son of former minister for investigation in cash-for-job scam in the Assam State Public Service Commission (APSC). According to the police, the officials will be interrogated on June 9. Among those summoned are 13 ACS offices and 6 APS officers, 2 Labour inspectors, one tax superintendent, two assistant employment officers and one tax inspector. The ACS officers who are summoned by Dibrugarh police are Pallavi Sarma Choudhury, Himangsu Choudhury, Dipak Khanikar, Rajarshi Sen Deka (son of Nilamani Sen Deka), Kamal Debnath, Kunal Das, Badarul Islam Choudhury, Anirudha Roy, Nishamoni Deka, Debojit Bora, Rumi Saikia, Gitali Doley and Daithun Borgayari. On the other hand the APS officers who are summoned by Dibrugarh police are Jatindra Prasad Baruah, Jayanta Kumar Nath, Rakesh Gupta, Sabira Imran, Dilip Kumar Kalita and Harsha Jyoti Bora. The other officers are Sunayana Aideu, Barun Purakayashtha, Amarjit Das, Sudipta Goswami Bhattacharya, Raju Saha and Jyotirmoy Adhikary. The officers had appeared in the State Civil Services mains examination and interview in the year 2014 and were appointed in 2015. The officers have been called to the guest house of 4th Assam Police Battalion, Kahilipara in Guwahati, where investigating team will collect the hand writing samples of them and carry the interrogation. The officers have been summoned based on the forensic tests of answer scripts conducted by the investigators. Recently, Dibrugarh police had seized nearly 990 answer scripts from the strong room of the APSC office and many of them were suspected to be fake. The markings in some fake answer scripts were done by Rakesh Paul himself, a fact that has been corroborated by forensic experts. Some of the answer scripts were not printed in the Government Press and instead were reprinted in the printing press owned by the bother of Rakesh Paul. Earlier, three ACS officers have been arrested last month in connection with the case. More officers, who allegedly got jobs by cash, are also under scanner. It is seen that, zero tolerance against corruption by Sarbananda Sonowal has been helping in the investigation process in the multi crore rupees cash-for-job scam of the APSC.
