Assam, Nagaland CMs hold meeting in Kaziranga

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his Nagaland counterpart T R Zeliang held a meeting at Kaziranga on Monday. Several ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, Chief Secretary and officials from both the states participated in the crucial meeting.

 

The meeting is a part of initiative to bolster friendship between the two states, government sources said.

 

“Assam and Nagaland share a history of brotherhood and have age-old and deep rooted ties of friendship,” Sonowal said addressing a joint press meet.

 

“The states should develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as intelligence sharing, crime control, action against rhino poaching and updation of NRC,” he added.

 

Sonowal said that to fostering friendly and harmonious relationship amongst the people living in border areas, Border Outreach programmes will be taken up.
