Political activities gaining momentum ahead of Assam Assembly polls

Election related activities have been gradually gaining momentum in Assam ahead of the Assembly polls. Hectic parleys are on among all political parties to finalise candidates, campaign strategy and election manifesto. With the arrival of high profile leaders, campaigning in Assam is likely to intensify in coming days.

Among others, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address a public meeting on 5th of February at Moran, while Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is also to visit Upper Assam. Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi, State BJP President and Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal, AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal have already started to attend public meetings.

Other regional parties including Bodoland Peoples Front, BPF and Asom Gana Parishad have also started poll preparations. The BJP and BPF have already formed an alliance.
